Lachlan Evennett has continued to showcase his quality on the world stage after securing another GT4 European Series Silver Cup podium over the weekend.
The Queenslander missed Monochrome GT4 Australia’s round in Sydney due to the European round, which saw him continue his debut season at the famous Zandvoort circuit.
Driving alongside Dutch local Meet Houben in the Speedy Motorsport GR Supra GT4 EVO2, Evennett contributed significantly during the weekend as the pair finished second in the opening race.
Securing a top five placing in the round’s second outing, Evennett and Houben had a hugely productive weekend behind the wheel as they climbed the standings and finished the weekend in seventh place with a mathematical chance of securing the Silver Cup title.

“It was a pretty good weekend overall. We were pretty confident going into the weekend, especially as it was Meet's home track and I'd done a test there a month prior,” Evennett said.
“I really gelled with the track and it reminded me more of an Australian circuit - high grip, low grip, very bumpy - which I really liked. It was one of my favourite tracks we've been to over here this year, so I was pretty confident we'd have good pace.
“From Practice One, I think we were pretty much there. It was a very good confidence boost throughout the rest of the weekend, and something we've been trying to improve on this year is qualifying. To have both of us qualifying in the top 10 was really, really good and gave us even more confidence heading into the races.
“We always knew the Supra was usually pretty good on a tight track. We might not have had as much pace at the start, but as the race went on, we built up quite a lot of pace and it ended up going very well. To get a podium and two top-fives in the weekend was pretty special.”
The podium highlighted Evennett’s progression through the GT4 ranks in 2026, which was marked by his debut in Australia and visits to some of the best tracks in Europe.
“It’s been a surprising year for us. Coming over here with really no experience on the tracks and doing very well has been a pretty cool experience,” Evennett added.
“I’ve learnt a lot at the tracks over here. They’re very difficult and it’s a very different style of driving compared to what we have in Australia, so it’s been a really good year.”
“Doing Monochrome GT4 Australia has been really important for me as getting extra time in the car, doing extra qualifying sessions and doing extra races has helped build my techniques and has really helped me coming over here.”
“Even when I’m not racing, I still get to drive the car. Even if it’s on the other side of the world, I’m still able to do it.”
Evennett will return to Australia for the final Monochrome GT4 Australia round at Sandown International Raceway later this year with the season finale to headline LIQUI MOLY GT Festival Sandown on 30 October - 1 November.
